Rogue Planet: Glossary of terms...
ATSM: The most feared close combat fighter of them all, the ATSM, or All Terrain Survival Machine, is not in fact a machine but a genetically and biologically enhanced supra-human, encassed in a fully integrated inner and outer exo-skeleton body suit, designed to operate in all manner of hostile environments from zero gravity to highly pressurised, toxic atmospheres. Boasting an inner exo-skeleton neural, skeletal and musculature interface, boosting the wearer's natural strength, endurance, flexibility and reflexive capabilities to superhuman levels, the ATSM's combat capability is further enhanced by a hyper-resilient titanium reinforced outer shell making it virtually impervious to small-arms fire. Or more simply put... very, very scary!
Csilinium: Also known as red crystal, red rock or ruf, Csilinium is found only on Jupiter's moon Io. Csilinium is the most coveted and expensive material in the solar system thanks to its almost supernatural healing properties and capacity to prolong the human lifespan. The mining of Csilinium on Io is carried out exclusively by an Earth based, FET controlled, mining conglomerate "Eureka! Limited".

FET: FET stands for the Federation of Earth's Territories. FET is an Earth based multi-civilisational collective. Under the terms of its charter FET is charged with the maintenance of economic, political and legal order throughout the inner and outer colonies.
The Inner Colonies: The FET loyal inner colonies consist of Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.
Io: A small satellite of Jupiter, Io lies a mere 420,000 kilometres from the gas giant Jupiter and is connected to its mother planet by a strong electrical current. With Jupiter's huge gravitational force creating the internal heat that drives Io's numerous active volcanoes, this tiny world is aptly described by the peoples of the Rim as the most dangerous place in the solar system. And with good reason... Io's gigantic volcanoes can erupt for months on end, spewing forth copious amounts of sulphur, sulphur compounds and other complex elements into the atmosphere, resulting in lava flows that stretch for thousand's of kilometres and which cover much of the world's pock-marked surface. What makes this dangerous place so invaluable to FET and the peoples of the Jupiter Rim however is the by product of all this volcanic activity - abundant deposits of Csilinium crystals embedded within layers of solidified molten rock.
Jupiter Rim: The Jupiter Rim comprises the gas giant Jupiter, its extensive moon system and multitude of orbital habitat platforms. Jupiter's four main moons - Callisto, Europa, Ganymede and Io - are commonly referred to as Jupiter's "Galilean satellites".
The Outer Colonies: The outer colonies comprise Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and their various satellites. The outer colonies have become increasingly resentful of FET's regulation, control and perceived exploitation of outer colony resources.

Remote Refuelling Station: Remote Refuelling Stations serve as pit-stops for cargo and container ships on the long and ardous journey between Mars and Jupiter and between Jupiter and the outer planets of Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. There are nine Remote Refuelling Stations servicing the Mars to Jupiter trade route. These refuelling stations are: (1) Ottavia; (2) Kirov; (3) Marcello; (4) Nabucco; (5) Apollo; (6) Xi; (7) Magellan; (8) Kursk; and (9) Tau Bootis. Control of these refuelling stations is vital to FET interests as they serve as essential pit stops for the vast cargo ships that transport much needed fossil fuels and other critical materials to the resource poor Earth and inner colonies.
The Raven: A P-type reconnaissance ship captained by Alt Raynor. The Raven is sent to the Remote Refuelling station Tau Bootis in order to deal with an insurgent uprising which threatens the supply of Csilinium to Earth and the inner colonies.

Tau Bootis: A Remote Refuelling Station situated in sector 6, Tau Bootis is one of nine Remote Refuelling Stations servicing the 630 million kilometre Jupiter to Earth trade route. Lying around 50 million kilometres from the gas giant Jupiter, Tau Bootis is the scene of the initial separatist uprising led by the independence activist, Tau Freelander. In response to this threat, Governor Keenan authorises FET military command to quell the uprising and re-establish FET governance and control of the station. To this end FET command orders the Raven, a P-type reconnaissance ship captained by Alt Raynor, to make its way to Tau Bootis in order to put down the insurgency.
