Io's gigantic volcanoes can erupt for months on end, spewing forth copious amounts of toxic elements into the atmosphere. What makes this dangerous place so invaluable to FET however is the by product of all this volcanic activity - abundant deposits of Csilinium crystals embedded within layers of solidified molten rock... A label for the darkness...
The welfare of the peoples of the Rim has never been a priority of FET... although it is our toil that keeps them wealthy; our labour that cloaks them in their fanciful garb; our Csilinium that nourishes and sustains them... Founders they may once have been, but a vast ocean of nothingness separates the inner and outer planets... 550 million kilometres from Jupiter to Mars... 630 million from Jupiter to Earth... We may have been one once, but Earth is no longer home to us. The Earthen tribe is no longer our tribe, their loyalties are no longer our loyalties... and the founders of this great expanse are now but a label for the darkness...
